APPROXIMATELY EVERY THREE weeks, the DHS student population is bombarded at the door with copies of the latest Spectrum. A student cannot enter the school without walking by up to four outstretched hands offering the newspaper. Many have said that this makes them feel awkward or uncomfortable. However, this will no longer be a problem, as the Spectrum has stopped distributing in print.

The Spectrum will now be publishing solely on its website:

DHSSpectrum.com.

The site is both high-quality and user-friendly and has been used to supplement the newspaper’s printed issues since 2013.

What are some benefits to going digital?

Read the Spectrum on your phone! Because the website is well-suited for mobile use, school news can now be accessed from the palm of your hand, not a long and unwieldy paper.

Being digital only enables the Spectrum to publish articles as they are finished. Now news will be published quicker and more frequently.

The Spectrum will now be uploading its playlists onto Spotify for easy listening. Links to each will be posted on the website.

Do you normally arrive at school after the bell and after the Spectrum is passed out? Now you can skip first period AND enjoy staying informed.

Our website contains an extensive archive of every Spectrum article since 2013. Be sure to catch up on the ones you missed.

Podcasts that delve deeper into article topics will be made available on the website.

Nina Lamarre’s witty comics will still be posted onto the website.

The Spectrum remains a paper by students and for students. Our staff hopes that students find supporting the paper online to be an easier and more comfortable experience.
